Is it 0.25 seconds until the arrow leaves the bow and then 0.5 seconds aftercast delay
or
0.25 seconds until the arrow leaves the bow, 0.25 seconds until the second part of the attack animation is over and then 0.25 seconds aftercast delay?

I know it's nitpicking, but it makes a small difference when IAS skills are involved.

It's the latter, I believe.

That's a tough question.

Short of recording your video output at a very high framerate and examining the video, it will be hard to distinguish between these two possibilities.

The difference between them at 33% IAS is 0.085sec. I cannot reliably distinguish differences less than 1/10 of a sec by eye. Even if I could, my hardware doesn't have a consistent enough framerate for consistent results. The best I can think to do is to chain enough of them for the difference to add up to something measurable.

My best attempt at measuring by chaining would be trying to put 4 shots at 33% IAS under 2 sec.

If .25 cast + .5 aftercast, then
(.25 * .66) + .5 + (.25 * .66) + .5 + (.25 * .66) + .5 + (.25 * .66) = 2.16 = FAIL.
But if .25 cast_frontend + .25 cast_backend + .25aftercast, then
(2 * .25 * .66) + .25 + (2 * .25 * .66) + .25 + (2 * .25 * .66) + .25 + (.25 * .66) = 1.90500 = barely PASS.
After several attempts with a friend watching, I could NOT get 4 arrows in under 2 sec. I didn't even get very close.

Of course, it's possible that I'm failing to queue the 3rd or 4th skill quickly enough or that my friend failed to notice an arrow that was just barely in the air at the 2 sec mark.
